Have you ever dreamed of how you can feel to see 2 halves of the world? Uganda is one of the exciting places where one can see the two halves odf the world. On visiting Uganda, you can have an adventure to stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and one foot on the southern hemisphere of the world.
On your holiday in Uganda, there are several places where one can get this experience.
According to Wikipedia “The equator (sometimes referred to colloquially as “the Line”) is the intersection of the Earth’s surface with the plane perpendicular to the Earth’s axis of rotation and containing the Earth’s center of mass.” Simply said it is the imaginary line that divides the earth in half. With the north on one side and the south on another.
While in Uganda, there are several places where one can have an experience of standing along the two halves (hemispheres) of the world ie Masaka, Kasese. Though there are several places of this kind, a point in Masaka is more refered to as the Uganda Equator. At the Uganda Equator you will see this by a line drawn in the middle of the street. And with a monument on both sides that state “Uganda Equator”. It is an absolutely amazing feeling to stand on both sides of the world.
Other than the fact that you can stand on both sides of the Equator there is also the opportunity to see an experiment of how water drains straight down at the Equator. But the water will drain clockwise on the northern hemisphere and counterclockwise on the southern hemisphere. This is something very different to see.
There are also different souvenirs shops at the Equator where you can buy souvenirs to show off your adventure to your friends and family.
